WOODSLAND HARNESSES SOLAR POWER: UNLOCKING THE UNTAPPED POTENTIAL OF GREEN ENERGY

During the heatwave in early August 2025, Vietnam’s national power system recorded a record peak capacity of 54,500 MW — an increase of 10% compared to the same period in 2024. Rising demand for electricity underscores the urgent need for sustainable solutions. Rooftop solar is emerging as a vital self-generated resource, which, if fully leveraged, could become a key driver of the economy during the forecasted double-digit growth period of 2026–2030.

At Woodsland, the rooftop solar system with a capacity of 11.8 MWp has been operating with remarkable efficiency. The system generates up to 7.9 million kWh annually, meeting nearly 50% of the company’s on-site electricity demand. Notably, in July alone, Woodsland contributed more than 52,000 kWh of surplus electricity to the national grid — a clear demonstration of the significant potential of this energy source.

Mr. Nguyễn Tiến Đạt, an employee of Woodsland, shared: “We hope that the government and the power sector will introduce clear, stable, and long-term mechanisms, so that businesses can not only transfer surplus electricity to the national grid but also sell it to organizations seeking clean energy.”
Investing in solar power not only enables Woodsland to reduce operational costs and secure “green” orders from demanding international markets, but also affirms the company’s strong commitment to sustainable development.

Woodsland firmly believes that, as policies are further refined, rooftop solar will realize its full potential — contributing to Vietnam’s journey toward Net Zero and long-term sustainable growth.
